I worked as a developer at LG Electronics, a telecommunications company, for about 27 years. Since retiring, I have been teaching introductory software coding courses at various universities, as well as lecturing at vocational schools and government offices. Currently, I am teaching an IoT course at a vocational training school.

Practical DB Skills Starting with SQL

Section 1

Oracle SQL Basics and Data Querying (DQL)

Understand the basic concepts of databases and learn how to effectively retrieve, sort, and filter data using Oracle 11g environment settings and SQL SELECT statements. Master various retrieval techniques such as DISTINCT, ORDER BY, WHERE clauses, logical operators, and NULL handling.

Data Manipulation and Transaction Management (DML, TCL)

You will learn how to manipulate data using DML commands such as INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE, and how to maintain transaction consistency through COMMIT and ROLLBACK. You will also carry out practical data management projects utilizing advanced query techniques such as JOIN, subqueries, Inline Views, and UNION.

Data Definition and Control (DDL, DCL)

Create and manage database objects using DDL commands such as CREATE, ALTER, and DROP, and ensure data integrity by setting constraints. Practice using advanced objects like VIEW, INDEX, and SEQUENCE, and manage user permissions through GRANT and REVOKE.
