I have worked as a UI/UX designer for over three years, but as a non-major who has only been in small organizations, I had no one to discuss job-related concerns with. As a result, my thoughts became stagnant, and I couldn't find a clear direction for my career transition. Due to a lack of objective perspective, there were limits to how much I could improve my application materials. Naturally, submitting them as they were led to rejections. I needed a strong motivation to make a significant change, which is why I joined this challenge. While participating in the challenge, the instructor helped me re-evaluate the value of my experiences. At the same time, systematically reviewing my projects from start to finish according to the instructor's guide increased the resolution with which I view my own experiences. Although there is still a long way to go until completion, I am very satisfied with being able to change the overall format of my documents. I highly recommend this to anyone who, like me, doesn't have peers in the same field around them.
As a product designer who has been with my current company for nearly five years, I am preparing for my first career move. Although I had been working on my portfolio and resume little by little, I couldn't make much progress because I had no sense of the current job market or hiring strategies. After attending Ahn Cha-ready's free live session, I signed up for the challenge immediately! First of all, the session provided detailed guidance on how to analyze Job Descriptions (JD) and write a resume from a recruiter's perspective. Through that process, I was able to identify my strengths and see which aspects of my past work stood out the most. I especially appreciated gaining a sense of how to structure the overall flow and logical framework when organizing my project documentation! Additionally, having the opportunity to exchange feedback with team members allowed me to receive diverse perspectives and positive influence. I highly recommend this challenge to those who haven't experienced the job market in a long time and don't know where to start, or to those who are struggling to make progress while preparing on their own!
I am a project manager with 5 years of experience. Since I was lucky when I got my previous job, this is my first time working on a standard resume and portfolio. Even though I have the experience, I found it difficult to figure out how to properly present it. That’s when I came across the mentor’s free lecture on Inflearn, which gave me a lot of confidence, and I decided to start the challenge. By setting weekly goals and providing detailed feedback on what I wrote, the mentor helped me gain a clear understanding of how to structure everything. Sometimes, when getting portfolio critiques, it can feel like the work is no longer your own. However, instead of just giving me the fish, the mentor taught me how to fish, allowing me to gain know-how that I can apply to other projects as well. In addition to document preparation, the mentor addressed realistic job-seeking concerns and encouraged me by letting me know I wasn't alone, which greatly relieved my fears about changing jobs. If you need feedback from outside your specific job group—especially from an HR or hiring manager's perspective—I think this is absolutely essential. I realized that I was like a frog in a well, omitting many details when explaining things to others. Also, being able to hear the concerns of other team members made me feel like I wasn't alone. I highly recommend this to anyone who feels they might keep procrastinating if they were to do it by themselves.
As a 6th-year product designer preparing for a career move, I encountered this challenge at a time when my mental state had hit rock bottom due to continuous application rejections. Despite having quite a few years of experience, I strangely lacked any self-metacognition. I couldn't figure out my strengths, weaknesses, or my identity as a designer; I was just anxiously churning out "decent-looking" portfolios like everyone else. However, by following the challenge guide—which involved job analysis, resume improvement, and completely deconstructing and re-analyzing my projects from the ground up—I gained a clear understanding of the direction I should take for my career history and portfolio. I was also able to examine in detail how to turn the concerns I previously viewed as weaknesses into my own powerful weapons. This wasn't just typical coaching that ends with evaluating the aesthetics of a screen. Instead, it makes you dig deep into the essence of "what kind of problems can I solve as a designer?" I believe this is the incredible merit unique to this challenge. As a challenge that brings out the true weapons hidden within you, I felt it was valuable enough just by providing a direction to build a firm identity and logically present it in my resume and portfolio. I believe this will be a huge help to those who have years of experience but are wandering because they can't find their strengths, or those who have lost confidence due to document rejections. I hope everyone participates in the challenge and achieves a successful career move.
I felt completely overwhelmed trying to prepare for a job change with less than two years of experience due to a recommendation for resignation and projects that felt lacking in substance. Then, I happened to watch the mentor's free live session and felt there might be a way to fix the portfolio and resume I was preparing on my own, so I signed up for the challenge immediately after the live ended. From analyzing JDs to identifying my strengths during the resume writing process and strategically analyzing projects, these were all new experiences I hadn't tried in previous job searches. It made me poignantly realize that I hadn't been able to see the light at the end of the tunnel because I had been preparing the wrong way all along. My confidence was quite low during the challenge, but because the mentor told me exactly what to do in my current situation and provided specific feedback, I was able to get a sense of which direction I need to develop in the future! I highly recommend this challenge to those who have been blindly trying to make their portfolios look pretty or those who have lost their way and don't know what the problem is!
