This course examines ways of resolving conflicts over the allocation of water resources, focusing on the need for effective governance and negotiation skills. Through case studies of transboundary water conflicts, learners will explore global freshwater challenges and strategies for conflict resolution.
This course covers fundamentals of subsurface flow and transport, emphasizing the role of groundwater in the hydrologic cycle, the relation of groundwater flow to geologic structure, and the management of contaminated groundwater. The class includes laboratory and computer demonstrations.
