Thank you, Sam. I was having a hard time because I couldn't get a grasp on the data structure or the flow and principles of the algorithm. ㅠ.ㅠ You go straight to what I need and help me understand the core of the data structure. I think I can grasp the core principles. I'll listen to it and then watch the rest and practice and implement it.

  • You will gain confidence that you can do it too.

Programming is difficult

Have you ever studied computer engineering? I have. Like any other major, computer engineering is a typical one, full of students who struggle because they don't fit the mold. I chose my major without much thought, simply because I loved games, and I sighed several times a day. I pride myself on being a hard worker, but programming was one of the things I struggled to connect with. Ultimately, I avoided programming classes at all costs throughout my school years, and whenever we were assigned a group project, I was solely responsible for presenting it.
My first encounter with Python was a two-hour seminar I happened to attend. While attending the seminar, I thought, "I could do this, too." Indeed, I was able to create what I envisioned in no time. It wasn't a spectacular program, but it was a task that wouldn't have been easy in other languages. It was also the first time I felt joy in programming. If I had encountered Python a little earlier, my college years might have been a little less painful.
There are so many difficult things in life. It's a bit embarrassing to say this when writing an easy-to-understand programming book, but learning programming is difficult. Learning a foreign language, a human language, is difficult, and computer languages are no less so. Python, while easier than other languages, is inherently challenging for beginners. "Hello Coding: Python in a Bite" is a compilation of my experiences teaching Python to my wife, a barista. I've taught countless non-majors Python, and I've prided myself on how easy it can be, but my wife has always exceeded my expectations. I've incorporated all the know-how I've gained from this experience into the book. Those who excel at studying often struggle to understand those who struggle, and programming is no exception. While writing this book, I've tried to recall the struggles and frustrations I felt when I first started programming.

Hello Coding Python in one bite...

This book is truly a bite-sized piece. If you put your mind to it, you could read it all in just a few hours. I encourage you to relax and read it comfortably. Feel free to skip over parts you find difficult. You don't need to understand everything. Just take a bite, and if you find it palatable, take two or three more. I believe studying along with the book will be much easier. I've been preparing video lectures since I first wrote the book. They're like freshly baked cookies and cold milk. Either way, they go together so well, I recommend watching them together. Now, let's dive into the magic of Python!

People who are good at studying often don't understand those who struggle with it. Coding is the same. Although I now run a coding education YouTube channel, I was once a "coding quitter" myself. Coding is by no means easy, which is why you must learn it in a truly accessible way. I will walk this path with you, never forgetting the difficulties and the sense of helplessness I felt when I first learned to code.
