Coding Test [Problem Solving Techniques]

"How do you come up with such an explanation?"

This is one of the most frequently asked questions I get when I teach coding test classes.

Many students unanimously agree.

“Following the solution process is not difficult, but when I first encounter the problem in practice, I don’t know where to start.”

There are a ton of coding test courses on the market these days.

Most of them have excellent curricula and have no difficulty explaining the concepts.

It is well designed to provide a solid foundation for the core theories of data structures and algorithms, and to foster application skills through example problems.

But there is one thing that many lectures overlook.

This is a specific description of the 'problem-solving thought process' itself.

That is, there is a relative lack of training on what to pay attention to when looking at a problem and what direction to approach it in.

Ultimately, from the learner's perspective, although they may understand the examples in the lecture, when they encounter a new problem, they often have no idea why it is being solved this way.

This course was created to address that very shortcoming.

The key is not simply to give you the right answer, but to verbalize the 'method of coming up with' ideas , the 'perspective of analyzing' problems, and the thought processes that real problem solvers unconsciously use .

Learn about these things

Problem solving skills

In this course, you will not learn difficult algorithms and data structures. However, you will solve difficult problems that can be solved with only basic algorithms and data structures.

In the process, you will focus on the essence of problem solving rather than background knowledge.

Specifically, we will learn about the four techniques below by solving examples.

  1. Reverse selection

  2. Collecting items

  3. Change your perspective

  4. Understand the essence

If you master these four problem-solving techniques, you will be able to come up with a much wider range of approaches when solving difficult coding test problems.

Idea

Things to note before taking the class

Learning Materials

  • Correct answer codes are provided for all problems.

Practice environment

  • The solution code is written in Python.

  • However, it is written in a way that is easy to read for people who speak other languages.

When learning Swift, the iOS programming language, it can be confusing when multiple concepts appear all at once. That's why I created this course with the principle that "when understanding a new concept, only previously learned concepts should be used." So this course is meticulously designed with a sequential structure between concepts, where only one new concept appears at each stage, and no other unfamiliar concepts appear at all. One concept per minute, 180 concepts total. From the basics of variables and constants to understanding memory structure from a CS perspective, and even the latest syntax for asynchronous processing. In 3 hours, you'll learn 180 core concepts in the designed order.
