The foundation of all computer-related knowledge
CS 101: Broad and Deep Learning

No matter which country or university you go to...
The first major subject in a computer-related department is computer basics !

CS 101 (Computer Science 101), a course like Computer Fundamentals or Introduction to Computers , serves as a navigator for those who want to major in computer science as an academic or career field.

You need to have a solid foundation in computer fundamentals to move on to the 'next step'!

Computer Fundamentals covers the minimum fundamental theories required in computer-related fields and demonstrates the connections between various specialized fields. A well-structured CS 101 course provides a foundation for all subsequent major courses, including programming languages, data structures, algorithms, computer architecture, operating systems (OS), and databases (DB).

👉 Here, the very “Computer Fundamentals” course is offered as a series of lectures .
👉 Also available as a roadmap lecture titled "Computer Science." Be sure to check it out!

Is this perhaps my story?

Those who want to learn both basic theories and practical applications in the computer field

Those who want to lay the foundation for a broad understanding of various fields related to computers.

College students who wish to major or minor in computer science and working professionals who require related training

  • Surprisingly, there are many cases where people do not systematically study the basics of computers when they first enter the computer field.
  • Students majoring in computer science or working in related fields often say , “It would have been much easier to study if I had learned this content in advance and taken other major subjects.”

Build a Strong Computer Foundation! 3 Key Steps

Solid foundation theory

We will explain the basic terms and theories required to learn programming languages, data structures, and algorithms step by step.

A broad and balanced explanation

It covers a wide range of topics across the entire computer science/computer engineering major, thoroughly and comprehensively.

Rich and vivid examples

You can easily learn the equivalent of more than 24 hours of university class content through abundant examples.

So, after finishing the lecture!

  • 👉 You will understand the terminology, basic theories, and practical application cases used in computer-related subjects.
  • 👉 Therefore, you can gain a foundation that will allow you to study computer science much more easily and systematically .

Q&A 💬

Q. What are the reviews of the paid lectures?

The evaluations of those who took the entire course, which was an external lecture on the same topic by a knowledge sharer, were as follows.

  • The overall quality of the lectures was high, and they were very helpful in developing a broad knowledge of computer engineering.
  • It was very helpful to be able to systematically learn the overall content of computers without being too overwhelming.
  • Although the content was very extensive, the lecture was well-organized and focused on the key points, so I was able to understand it quickly.
  • As a newbie to computers, I wanted to learn about the overall computer science, and this course perfectly met my needs. I really enjoyed it.

Q. Is it really necessary to take a basic computer science course? Wouldn't it be sufficient to immediately take a programming language or computer application/advanced major course?

Those who wish to major in computer science will need to invest a significant amount of time from now on. Wouldn't it be much easier to play if you could briefly review "hints" and "strategy guides" when starting a fairly complex game that requires a significant investment of time to complete?

This "Computer Basics" course is essentially a "hint" and "strategy guide." You'll start the game knowing which continents you'll visit during the long voyage ahead, what treasures you'll find, and what monsters you'll encounter. Of course, that doesn't mean the game will be boring. It's just enough to make it more enjoyable!

Q. Can non-majors also take the course?

When non-majors study computer science, the first subjects they should take are courses like this one, such as computer basics, computer introduction, and introductory computer courses.

Q. Will it help me with computer skills, studying for certifications, and preparing for interviews?

Of course, it's also great for preparing for various exams and interviews. However, it covers a broader range of topics and provides more detailed information than courses designed for qualification exams like "Computer Proficiency," "Word Processing," and "General Computers," as well as written and oral interview preparation. The lectures, taken as a whole, are considerably longer than those offered for exam preparation. Specifically, it's ideal for learning fundamental principles and broad background knowledge, rather than simply memorizing them.

Q. Is there a reason for setting a course deadline?

The reason for setting a deadline for the course is that, given the nature of the computer field, the course content is likely to become outdated after that amount of time.
By then, I'll be back with a new lecture. 😄

Q. Are there subtitles in the video?

While some class videos include subtitles, most do not. Subtitles may be replaced without notice if new subtitles are produced.

I am glad that the series I was looking for came out. The first one was a general one, so I am looking forward to the follow-up lectures. However, this lecture was also helpful because I was able to learn about the general overview and devices of computers.

The lectures are so comfortable and good for non-majors to listen to. Can I ask questions while listening????

    • Hello. 🌞 Thank you for your good evaluation. It was originally designed for non-majors, and it is also very well-received offline. 🍀 You can ask questions about the lecture. However, please understand that it may take some time for me to respond because I am often on business trips. 🍀 I hope you always have a happy time.
