I've tried learning databases and SQL multiple times but always gave up halfway through, but thanks to this course, I was able to complete it. Since the instructor is the book's author who taught directly, it connected well with the book content, and having a separate textbook made it much easier to review and keep up with the progress. It was great that all content from the beginning to the end of the book was covered, allowing me to get an overview of SQL as a whole. In particular, I think it was good that the instructor showed coding in real-time and gave separate practice time in between, making it feel like taking a real-time class even though it was online. For the most important parts in practice like SELECT statements, over 15 hours were allocated for in-depth explanations, and the instructor directly solved the 'review problems' at the end of each chapter, which was fun and helpful. Although it was a long course of over 29 hours and wasn't easy to watch completely, I don't think there's any content to skip. I recommend this to those who find it difficult to study alone and prefer having a book alongside.

As a non-major preparing for a career change to the IT industry, I really felt the need to study SQL, and I learned about this course through a friend's recommendation. After taking the course, I understood why they recommended this book and course. It was great to be able to learn focusing on the core grammar essential for practical work, and the process of naturally learning through repeating examples and solutions was a huge help. The instructor's explanations were also Kind and easy to understand, so it wasn't difficult to follow along, and it was really meaningful to be able to feel the actual work experience. When I studied only with books, it wasn't easy to keep going consistently on my own, but like other reviews mentioned, having you display the stopwatch and give us time to solve problems made it feel like taking a real-time class even though it was an online course, which was really great👍 Thanks to this, I wasn't bored throughout my studies, and even as a non-major, I was able to gradually gain confidence. I think choosing to take the course instead of just reading the book was a really good decision! Thank you for being such a great help in my job change preparation, and now I'm going to go through it thoroughly one more time :D

I was a bit weak in SQL, so I was studying by purchasing various SQL books when a friend gave me a pre-revision version of a book called "Database Introduction with Oracle," which led me to find this course. I felt that this textbook was definitely more comfortable to read in terms of table of contents and flow compared to the SQL-related books I had purchased and studied before, so I thought since I'm going to study during vacation anyway, I might as well study with the revised edition. So I purchased the revised edition and am currently studying with the course... To get straight to the point, it's so good!! I'm definitely going to recommend this course first to everyone around me who says they're studying SQL. Because first of all, the textbook itself has a well-structured curriculum flow that's easy to read. For example, other SQL textbooks... In Chapter 1, they cover database theory, what relational databases are, database types, DBMS history, and all these theories, and for someone like me who lacks concentration, I get completely drained early on and end up not wanting to continue and getting exhausted. But this book just touches on the really important basic theoretical concepts at the beginning, skipping things like history, and immediately moves to hands-on practice, so the progression is speedy and good. At first, I wondered if I could listen to all the lectures because there were so many hours, but the reason for the long lecture time wasn't because it was like "pause the screen and follow along, you all followed along, right? I trust you followed along... next~" but because they actually provided separate practice time with a timer. If you subtract this timer time, the lecture time would probably be cut in half...? But providing separate practice time like this was really refreshing. In my case, I often pause the lecture midway and follow along a bit, then get distracted by other things, but since they give time with a timer without stopping the online lecture, I could focus entirely on practicing, which was great. Plus, while the practice time was actually a bit short at the beginning, later on I could follow along within that practice time, and the sense of achievement from that was really truly satisfying. Moreover, they explain really important functions used in actual work in great detail, and there are problems to solve at the end of each chapter, and they explain all of those too, which was so good..!! They could have just skipped over it since everything was already explained in the previous material, but the detail of solving each problem one by one - you can definitely tell that the author who wrote the textbook directly is giving the lectures, so I could clearly receive the content and core intentions emphasized in the book through the lectures, and I understood why the lecture time was long. And when you listen, it doesn't actually take that much longer than other lectures..! The time spent pausing lectures and getting distracted while following along with practice was reduced!! 😆😆 I tend to only write reviews for lectures that really moved me... and among those, this is probably the first time I've written such a long review for a lecture 😆😆 If you're like me with poor concentration and can't finish reading a book completely, you'll be able to finish it completely if you study while taking this course. I have the last 5 lectures left now, and I'll finish listening to them all today and prepare for the new semester. Fighting to all university students across the country 💪 😆😆

Hello, Mingmi. Thank you so much for taking your precious time to leave such a detailed and thoughtful review. I'm truly delighted and feel a great sense of fulfillment knowing that you accurately understood the three core intentions I considered most important while creating this course: 'compressed theory in the beginning,' 'providing practice time that feels real-time,' and 'the experience of completely finishing an entire book.' I'm particularly impressed that you maintained focus and felt a sense of achievement through the practice timer. Thank you so much for consistently following along for the full 29 hours. I'm rooting for you to finish the remaining lectures well and have a successful start to the new semester! 💪

Jeich, thank you sincerely for completing the entire long course and leaving such a heartfelt review. Hearing that you've attempted SQL learning several times before but were able to complete this course gives me great satisfaction and joy. I'm incredibly proud as both an author and instructor that the book and lectures were connected, making it easy for you to follow the learning flow. I'm particularly glad that the practice-centered approach and review problem-solving were helpful - it seems my intended approach was well conveyed. As you mentioned, while the course is lengthy, I made every effort to include all the essential content from basics to practical application without omission. I give you a big round of applause, Jeich, for consistently following through to the end. If you have any additional questions during your learning journey, please feel free to reach out anytime. I'll always be here to support you as you continue with deeper learning and practical application. Thank you!

I first learned about the book, then discovered the course and decided to take it! After completing the course, it's great that I also thoroughly reviewed the book! This is my first time with SQL, and I found it easy to understand; I think it's a great course for SQL beginners!!
Renee, thank you so much for your heartfelt and valuable review. I was truly deeply moved to hear that you first learned about the book and then also took the lecture. I hope the book and lecture create synergy together and are even a little helpful for your learning. As both an author and an instructor, I feel a great sense of reward. I put a lot of effort into explaining from basic concepts step by step so that those new to SQL could understand more easily and utilize it in practice. As it was the first lecture launched on Inflearn, I wondered if there might be any shortcomings, but your words that you understood it well are a great encouragement to me, who prepared the lecture. Thank you for consistently following along throughout the course and for leaving such a warm first review. If you have any questions or feel anything is lacking in your future learning process, please feel free to let me know at any time. To provide better content, I will continuously improve and supplement it. Lastly, I hope you have successfully taken the first step in SQL learning through this lecture, and I sincerely support your future growth and great performance in practice. Thank you!

The audio recording has very harsh coughing sounds that are recorded too repetitively.... It's quite disappointing to release it like this.
Thank you for the feedback. 🙏 I will check the coughing sounds you mentioned more carefully during the editing process going forward. I apologize for any inconvenience during your studies, and I will work hard to create a better learning environment.
