Devops & Infra

Intermediate, Application Edition #1 DevOps: Infrastructure as Code with AWS and Terraform

This course allows you to learn the basic theory of DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), one of the fundamentals of DevOps. Through this course, you can properly understand IT-based services from a DevOps perspective and practice defining infrastructure as code for service operations. Upon completing the course, you will be able to easily create and manage the basic AWS resources needed for service operations using a tool called Terraform. Since AWS must be managed as code, this course is also essential for basic AWS study.

Course Features 🪄

Providing lecture materials in the form of Gitbook

  • The practical exercises in the lecture start at an intermediate level, with a certain level of understanding of the basics. It will be easier if you listen to Part 1, and you can also listen if you have basic AWS and Terraform knowledge.
  • The content covered in the lecture is provided on the website, so you can easily look up the content even if you study on your own later.
  • Use only services available within AWS Free Tier. (However, if you do not properly delete resources after completing the training, you may be charged!)
  • We provide lecture materials that we created ourselves through the Gitbook site.
  • The site provided is an integrated part of Intermediate #1 and Intermediate #2, and iam + jenkins + @ will be provided in Intermediate #2.

I had a basic understanding of Terraform and had used it before, but I had never used it in a real-world project. That's why I signed up for an intermediate Terraform course. The instructor's explanation, based on their extensive practical experience and accompanied by various tips, was a great help. I believe this kind of information is hard to come by just by searching the internet or reading official documentation unless you go through trial and error in a real-world project. In addition to the lecture videos, there's a GitBook page provided as supplementary material, which is great because I can refer to it while taking the course and also for studying afterward. As the instructor mentioned, the course is structured more like following a real-world process where you encounter errors and debug them, rather than just a tutorial to copy and paste code. I'm really looking forward to the intermediate Part 2, which is scheduled to be released in June. Despite being busy, I sincerely hope the instructor releases it on schedule for the students who are eagerly waiting for the follow-up course.

    • Thank you for the really great content~! But the June release, it was targeted for June 2024... so it still hasn't been kept 😭😭..... I will definitely keep my promise by June 2025 this time.

Learn from the best experts in the industry, AWS + Terraform lecture After looking through the repositories provided by foreign Terraform lectures, I found that most of them focus on Terraform grammar and usage, and folder structures, etc. are often used for practice. This lecture was good because it explained the actual structure, management methods, and architecture composition well. Also, in the development world where there are no correct answers and only trade-offs, there are sometimes problems that have correct answers, and it was very good that it explained these best practices. Also, the explanation of the reasons for them. Since there is so much to learn, beginners need a milestone called best practices, and if the reasons or background explanations are included, it is very delicious because it allows for quick knowledge acquisition and tier organization. I think these parts are the differentiating parts. If you are seeing Terraform for the first time, it would be good to briefly review the basic grammar and watch the beginner lecture before moving on to the intermediate level. Also, since it is not a lecture that is given one by one, the true value of the lecture is revealed through practice and repetition rather than watching. There is more than I thought, so I typed it repeatedly and organized it without looking at it later, and my skills improved. The downside is that the instructor is busy, so the next part is coming out too late.🤣

    • I will try hard to make part 2... and other lectures😭😭.... Thank you for the encouraging comments. I will try to live hard~
