Understanding and Practicing Romans
A course to deeply learn the Gospel through 8 core themes

Through Romans 1:18-32, we will clearly understand God's wrath and the sins of the Gentiles.
We will learn about the human condition of turning away from the truth despite general revelation through creation and conscience.

We learn that God's wrath is not mere anger, but a principle of judgment that appears to those who turn away from the truth and fall into idolatry.
By comparing the idolatry of ancient Rome with modern materialism and success-oriented mindsets, we realize the necessity of the Gospel.

We learn that the only hope to escape from the deep mire of sin lies in the Cross.
We are assured that the unchanging truth of the Gospel and Jesus Christ are the only true answers even in a changing world.

Explore the depth of the Gospel
through the 8 major themes of Romans

Section 1 - God's Wrath and the Sins of the Gentiles

Starting from Romans 1:18, we explore the wrath of God revealed against Gentiles who suppress the truth in unrighteousness. It analyzes the process of sin that occurs by failing to glorify God despite general revelation through creation and conscience, and explains God's judgmental 'giving them over' in connection with modern idolatry.

Section 2 - All Humanity is Under Sin

It addresses the self-deception of moralists and the privileges and responsibilities of Jews under the Law, ultimately declaring that all humans are under sin. Through this, it clarifies that no one can stand before God by human righteousness and presents the universal necessity of salvation.

Section 3 - Justification by Faith

It explains the gospel principle of justification, where the righteousness of God is given to us through faith in Jesus Christ. It presents the model of justification through Abraham's faith and addresses the liberation from the power of sin and death, as well as union with Christ, as results of justification.

Section 4 - New Life in Christ

It highlights the new life of the believer who has been completely set free from sin and the law through union with Christ. It understands that while the law is good, the sinful nature still exists, and teaches how to enjoy freedom from sin and the world within the Holy Spirit.

Section 5 - Life in the Holy Spirit and Assurance of Salvation

We explore the life of a believer living under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It presents, from a pneumatological perspective, the privileges enjoyed as children of God, the assurance of salvation through the Holy Spirit, and the secret to not losing hope even amidst suffering.

Section 6 - God's Plan of Salvation: Israel and the Gentiles

It covers in depth Israel's disobedience, their ultimate salvation, and the role of the Gentiles within God's sovereign plan of salvation. It explores God's mysterious dispensational plan for salvation and the biblical prophecies regarding the restoration of Israel.

Section 7 - Evangelical Devotion and Responsibility in the World

We learn about the dedicated life of offering oneself as a living sacrifice as a Christian and the responsible duties within the world. We apply the principles of living a watchful life and witnessing the Gospel of Christ through the practice of love.

Section 8 - Church Community and Brotherly Love

It emphasizes the importance of brotherly love in embracing weak members within the faith and the mission of the church. It depicts the image of a mature church community through the final exhortations alongside Paul's co-workers while fulfilling the mission of spreading the Gospel.
