An Interview Guide from a Technical Director Who Has Conducted N,000 Interviews

This is a practical technical interview strategy lecture shared directly by a Technical Director who has conducted over N,000 technical interviews. There is no such thing as a "guaranteed way to pass" or a "guaranteed formula for success" in this world. I will show you the interviewer's perspective—how they perceive a resume during the preparation stage, and what they focus on and prioritize during the interview process. A technical interview is not a memorization subject with fixed answers. The core of this lecture is understanding the essence of the process itself: showing your true self to the interviewer and persuading them. Whether you are an experienced professional or a newcomer, this lecture will be helpful for any developer who has ever worried about technical interviews.

I recently failed an interview at Toss Payments, so I took this course to get feedback on my shortcomings. To be honest, as a college student, it was difficult to understand what interviewers were thinking, and I was able to get a lot of help in that regard. I'm a bit embarrassed, but it was an honor to have my resume used in the lecture, and I learned exactly what kind of questions would be asked in an interview! This course is truly worth every penny. I highly recommend taking it.

Taking this lecture has given me a better sense of how to prepare for technical interviews. While preparing for a career move, I used to worry first about what questions would be asked and whether I could answer them correctly. However, through this lecture, I realized that a technical interview is not just a place to give the right answers, but a place to showcase my experiences and way of thinking. In particular, it was great to be able to think about why an interviewer asks certain questions and what the purpose behind them is. Previously, I felt a lot of pressure to answer immediately upon receiving a question, but now I feel that I should first identify the intent of the question and calmly consider which of my experiences I can base my answer on. Also, the point that interview time is not just a time to be evaluated, but an opportunity given to me, was very memorable. I learned that it is important to naturally create a flow toward experiences I can explain well through my self-introduction or answers, and not to miss the moments where I can appeal my strengths. Through this lecture, I have come to view technical interviews as something a bit less vague. Moving forward, rather than blindly memorizing expected questions, I plan to reorganize my resume and project experiences and practice conveying my thoughts effectively in line with the intent of the questions.

After taking this lecture, I felt as if I had already gone through more than five actual interviews. It was exactly the kind of concentrated experience I was looking for, packed with high density. Because the content was broken down into short segments and organized by keywords, I was able to stay focused until the very end. It has made it much clearer what I should prioritize when preparing my resume and for interviews. The best part was that it didn't just tell me "prepare like this," but instead explained the interviewer's perspective and thought process. Thanks to that, I gained a more three-dimensional understanding of what kind of attitude I should project and the criteria interviewers use to evaluate candidates. I will make sure to pass the interview and spread the word to everyone I know!

Technical interviews felt overwhelming, but being able to see things from the interviewer's perspective made me feel like I now clearly understand how to prepare. While other videos focus mostly on what you should do, I realized that avoiding what you shouldn't do is actually more important.

Thank you for the review, Joohyuk! It really is difficult to anticipate the perspective or thoughts of an interviewer when you are a student or a job seeker. I started creating this lecture with that viewpoint in mind, so I'm very glad it was helpful! This lecture was completed thanks to you providing your resume! Thank you!

I have a lot of thoughts like this. It feels like a lecture that teaches us "the things we need to prepare and focus on to do a job well, even before the technical skills." Although the lecture is themed around resumes, I really liked the parts about increasing self-understanding and things like "building bulkheads" that you mentioned in the previous legacy systems lecture. It keeps making me think, "This is someone who teaches the necessary qualities so that anyone can do their job well," rather than just how to become an outstanding developer through sheer technical skill. It also feels like a lecture that provides messages in advance and offers training on the things we usually have to learn through firsthand experience only after getting a job and gaining practical experience by learning just the technology.
