Development of Modern C++ Core Framework that is finished if you follow along
Hello, I am Yang Eun-seong, a robot/autonomous driving software architect.
I started in the robotics field and have been immersed in designing and developing autonomous driving software in the field. I have built C++-based systems directly in various robotics and autonomous driving projects, and in the process, I have naturally been able to develop software architecture, collaborative processes, and problem-solving skills in various aspects.
For example, in a small startup environment with limited resources, we had to implement all the functions ourselves from the beginning, and it was often difficult to freely utilize open source. So we actively introduced elements such as code structure improvement, build system efficiency, and test automation, and shared our know-how with team members, which dramatically increased the development speed.
After that, I moved to a larger autonomous driving company, and worked with several algorithm engineers to integrate and maintain complex modules. In the process, I led the standardization of the development process, establishment of design guidelines, and automation of refactoring to improve the code quality and productivity of the entire team, and as a result, I improved efficiency to the point where the development cycle, which took more than a month, was shortened to one week.
However, I felt that there was a limit to passing on know-how within one organization. I thought, “If I share this knowledge and experience with more people, wouldn’t I be able to quickly solve problems that are difficult to solve alone?” and eventually left the industry to conduct practical training.
We are now sharing all of our know-how on everything from open source usage to zero-base development and the entire collaboration process, helping engineers write better code and build faster processes.
