Hello. I’m a student who recently released a casual rhythm RPG game on the Play Store. I started last July and spent a year developing it, although honestly, I was lazy or just goofing off for about 4–5 months of that timeㅠ I set up the server myself, and the lectures were a huge help with all the essential features aside from the game itself. I kept thinking I should write a review once I released the game, and I’m finally leaving one!. First of all, I took both Part 1 and Part 2. - Part 1 has good content, but I think it is somewhat expensive. - Part 2 was very helpful. You can ask an AI questions as you go, but when you’re developing for the first time, you don’t know which features are essential to implement. These lectures narrow down the scope and can save you a tremendous amount of time. [Information to Share Regarding the Lectures] 1. Preparation for in-app sales I used a combination of a non-resident office, a sole proprietorship, and a personal Google Play account. After registering in-app products, the Play Console checks the verification-related details quite strictly. 2. [13] User Login Authentication Pt.1 In this lecture, if you upload an app built with the google-signin-unity package to the console, you will receive a warning saying that the app may terminate abnormally on 16KB devices and that you need to make modifications. I resolved this issue by following PullRequest #205 after visiting the GitHub URL provided in the lecture. (Download the zip file and replace the files.) 3. [34] Installing the Unity In-App Purchasing SDK I’m a little cautious because I’m not completely sure about this, but after registering in-app products in the console, you only need to install In App Purchasing. I confirmed that the settings covered later in the lecture are not essential for adding payment functionality. [Things I Realized After Developing Alone] 1. Keep the development period as short as possible, and work outside while dressed properly. 2. Set things up so that you can check logs. - I recommend using Firebase Crashlytics or Analytics. - You need to be able to determine at least whether users simply downloaded the app but don’t use it because it doesn’t run, or whether they don’t use it because the game isn’t fun, so that you can take appropriate action. 3. If there is no income, solo development ultimately becomes an expensive hobby. These lectures helped me a lot. Best of luck to everyone taking on the challenge of solo development! Thank you for the lectures!
