Until I landed a job, I was saving this lecture to focus on more basic and well-known(?) things like monolithic, MVC, and layered architectures. lol Now that I'm employed, I felt I could finally watch the lectures I wanted to see, so I signed up right away, and I was able to gain even more than I expected. The biggest takeaway for me was the question, "What exactly is 'common sense'?" Most of the 'misconceptions' and 'facts established as implicit rules' that Toby mentioned in the lecture were things I had accepted as truth without much thought. It was quite embarrassing to remember how, when encountering code at work that deviated even slightly from these rules, I would frown first without properly considering the reason or intent behind it. I realized that I hadn't even deeply thought about what the most basic 'layered architecture' truly is. Throughout the lecture, I was able to reflect deeply on many things, and it has been helpful and enjoyable to be able to engage in discussions with my team members with a more flexible mindset at work. But when is Part 2 coming out!!! Hahaha, I'm waiting!
