Many people talk about how to prepare for the AI era.

"Try using a lot of AI tools."

"You need to become a product builder."

"You need to develop the ability to review code."

"You need to automate with Claude Code."

"You need to be curious."


None of these methods are wrong, but

For those of us who are already struggling to barely handle day-to-day work problems, we're too busy to try all of these things.

Some of these are at opposite ends of the spectrum, where developing one skill can actually cause another to regress.

In many ways, preparing for the coming AI era as a developer is a difficult task.


As a 16-year senior engineer and startup CTO,
I too have repeatedly heard the same questions from fellow developers,
and I began to organize my own criteria.

received more attention than I expected.


So, I'd like to share a deeper conversation through this live session.
This lecture will also serve as a guiding direction for me to live the next 5 to 10 years. :)

Preparing for the Next 10 Years
The Big Picture of AI's Transformation

Over the course of about two months, I've compiled statements and discussions from leaders at OpenAI, Anthropic, and DeepMind over the past two years, and referenced credible AI research and articles from epoch.ai, 80,000 Hours, deeplearning.ai, Bloomberg, and others to organize the direction of AI changes coming over the next 10 years from a developer's perspective.

AI Evolution Stages and Required Developer Capabilities

Based on OpenAI's Five Levels of AI Progress Towards AGI, one of the most widely cited roadmaps for predicting AI evolution,

  • What is the nature of the change that each stage represents

  • What capabilities are actually required of developers in the midst of those changes

  • which preparations are excessive and which are essential

  • what common competencies are needed long-term across all stages

I'll carefully examine these points.
